WP Real Media Library is a really cool plugin that helps you create and manage folders within your WordPress Media Library. At first sight, I thought this was a really cool plugin. After using it, I’m really impressed. The developer did a really nice job with the plugin. WP Real Media Library is really easy to use out of the box and helps make the media library so much more useful.

One thing I did notice though, which probably isn’t a issue for most people. When you login to ftp to look at the contents of the /wp-content/uploads directory, first thing I noticed was there was none of the folders that I just created within my media library. So you can safely assume that the folders that the plugin actually makes, are just virtual for the sake of making browsing the media library easier for people and to help them organize their content, but doesn’t actually create any “real” folders within the file system. I really don’t see an issue with that in 99% of cases, but if you want to maintain the folder structure physically within the file system, then this plugin will not do that.

I’m rating the WP Real Media Library plugin high, because if all you need to do is create folders within your media library for the sake of organizing your media, then this plugin does exactly what it says it does, and it does it well. Kudos!
